What does opposing, or supporting, a mosque near the World Trade Center site have to do with Constitutional rights?   Nothing.   Not a thing.On Friday the President said:   "... I believe the Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country.   That includes the right to build a place of worship and a community center on private property in lower Manhattan in accordance with local laws and ordinances."We don't disagree with a syllable of that.

I have returned to Rochester after spending most of the last month in Kansas with my family after my mother's death. I'm coping and trying to get back to at least a semblance of my former life as I continue to process this loss. Thanks to those of you who have expressed your condolences. I appreciate it. She was a great woman and will be missed....

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting with the Democrat and Chronicle Editorial Board and Senator Gillibrand for an hour and a half or so.   I will agree with many of the comments that have already been made by my fellow board members. She seemed excited to give and take on the issues.   Also, she is very in command of her facts and feelings on almost all issues presented to her.
