Ontario County deputies arrested a Monroe County man on drug charges after they found a woman who had overdosed at Eastview Mall.

Deputies investigating a suspicious incident said they found Melinda S. Matula, 22, of 1217 Weiland Road, Rochester, in an incoherent state, apparently suffering from a narcotic overdose. She was taken to Thompson Hospital by Victor-Farmington Ambulance.

Camden Hills homeowner Nicholas Vassello was not about to take an order to remove his fence lying down.

This morning, Vassello’s attorney and lawyers for the town were scheduled to meet in Ontario County Court to see if they can resolve a months-long dispute over the fence that first started in September with neighbors distributing flyers and setting up a Web site urging the town to take down structure.

A landlord-tenant dispute between a town councilman and a constituent was moved from East Bloomfield Town Court and is waiting reassignment to another town court.

East Bloomfield Town Justice Andrew Ventura filed the request to relocate a complaint lodged by Elaine Miller, who is seeking a rent rebate from East Bloomfield Town Councilman Ron Hawkins.

The city will start its budget discussions tonight on the topic of the nearly $1 million anticipated shortfall for 2010.

“The city faces a $975,000 gap for next year,” said City Councilman Val Fenti. “That number represents 26 percent of the 2009 tax levy, hence the stakes are huge for all concerned, including taxpayers.”

The City Council will meet tonight at 7 at the Hurley Building, 205 Saltonstall St., for the first discussion of the 2010 budget.
