Now that I get back to more of a semblance of normalcy (although no one would call me "normal"), I hope to start putting something else on this blog in addition to the jazz listings each week on Wednesday. But for now, you get more listings....

I have returned to Rochester after spending most of the last month in Kansas with my family after my mother's death. I'm coping and trying to get back to at least a semblance of my former life as I continue to process this loss. Thanks to those of you who have expressed your condolences. I appreciate it. She was a great woman and will be missed....

I headed out to the Dryden Theater at George Eastman House (900 East Ave.) to see Kynodontas (Dogtooth).

Still out of town and dealing with a lot (see earlier posts below), but will be back in Rochester early next week. I hope I can get back in the swing of things after I return. I managed to find the following among the growing number of karaoke and DJ "gigs" around town. Here's the next seven days of jazz in Rochester. See you all next week....

I decided to go out and visit Ali at Genesee Valley Park (Hawthorn Dr.) at her kickball game with The Kickball League of Rochester. The game is relatively simple and goes by fast, so I only caught a couple innings. Ali went home but I decided to go with the team to the bar. Their pick: J. D.

Still out of town for awhile, helping my father after my mother's recent passing. Not much jazz here in Wichita, Kansas, but there's lots of heat (it was nearly 110F on Tuesday!). Hope to be back in Roc-cha-cha by mid-August. Until then (or about then...) here are the listings for live jazz in and around Rochester for the next seven days.
